Specialties
PADI Night Diver
Same site, a completely different world.
When the sun goes down, the seabed you know is transformed: daytime species retreat and nocturnal ones take their place. The Night Diver specialty takes you into this hidden side of diving, with the beam of your torch as your only guide.
What you'll learn
How to plan and organise a night dive, use your light and signals correctly to communicate with your buddy, enter and exit the water safely in the dark, navigate underwater at night, and recognise how marine life and its behaviour change after sunset.
Course structure
- Theory: planning, procedures, problems and risks typical of night diving.
- 3 open water night dives with your instructor, at a recommended depth of 6 to 12 metres.
The course is usually completed in 1–2 evenings.
Prerequisites
PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher. If you've already done the Night Adventure Dive in your Advanced course, you only need 2 more dives.
What's next
Access to a completely different diving experience at the sites you already know, and greater confidence in low-visibility conditions. This certification also counts towards Master Scuba Diver.
