Learn to help when it really matters.
An emergency can happen at any time, in the water or in everyday life. The Emergency First Response® (EFR®) Primary and Secondary Care course teaches you how to recognise an emergency and provide first aid, building the confidence and ability to act until medical personnel arrive.
The fundamental techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid, how to assess an injured or ill person, and how to respond to life-threatening emergencies.
You'll also cover managing serious bleeding, shock, suspected spinal injuries and airway obstruction, along with the main bandaging, splinting and care techniques for injuries and illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening.
The goal is to learn simple, structured procedures and, above all, to gain the confidence to apply them in a real situation.
The course can be completed through independent study/eLearning combined with the required hands-on training with an EFR Instructor.
You don't need to be a diver, and no PADI certification or previous first-aid experience is required. The course is for anyone who wants practical CPR and first-aid skills useful in everyday life, in sport and in diving.
An EFR Primary and Secondary Care certification earned within the last 24 months meets the CPR and first-aid training requirement for PADI Rescue Diver and for PADI professional pathways (Divemaster).
