PADI Drift Diver

Gliding effortlessly over a reef, or passing through a channel as if you were flying: drift diving is one of the most relaxing and at the same time exhilarating experiences you can have underwater. Drift Diver gives you the skills to do it safely.
What you'll learn
How to plan and manage a drift dive, keep your buoyancy under control while moving, stay close to your buddy or group, communicate with the support boat, and use drift-specific equipment such as a surface marker buoy (SMB), line and reel.
Course structure
- Theory (eLearning): procedures and techniques specific to drift diving.
- 2 open water dives in current, to practise all the techniques you've learned.
The course is usually completed in 1 day.
Prerequisites
PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent.
What's next
Safe, lower-effort access to drift dives — ideal for destinations such as the Maldives, the Red Sea or the Caribbean. This certification also counts towards Master Scuba Diver.
